Test Run

AOMEI may appear complex, however, it has ‘hand holding’ wizards built in to aid us to perform our desired disk partitioning operations.

We had a play around with our external drive (Disk 3) and tested out the various operations. Partition Assistant Standard performed all these operations with a flourish and within minutes! Here is an example below of when we split the partition. We really liked how all the information was displayed to us during the operation process.

Voila! Our Disk 3 has been formatted, split partitioned, renamed and smaller partitions reformatted. This was smoothly done.

The wizards are idiot-proof and are very helpful if one is unsure of themselves when carrying out an operation. Take a look below when we tested out converting Fat32 to NTFS for our external hard drive.

We are presented with the Confirm Operation dialog box which clarifies that this is the drive we want to convert the partition to NTFS. Always good to be able to double check these things!

AOMEI’s website has very thorough and detailed information on how each of the features operate for the product which we found very useful. Their clear screenshots and guidance means that we are in good hands and that the developers have an invested interest in successful customer service.

Should I Upgrade?

The AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard is free but you can upgrade to a Professional, Server, Unlimited or Technical version for a one time fee which includes even more cool features and unlimited version upgrades. One such feature that is available in the paid products is – Quick Partition – as it enables us to quickly set up the same partition for a large network of computers.

Final Thoughts

We believe that the AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard is a proficient and reliable software. We found it really easy to use and did not run into any issues when testing out its various features. We were particularly impressed with the Windows To Go Creator functionality which allows the user to create a bootable Windows 10 on a USB drive.
