It is incredible how fast we have developed in the past 5 years and how many advancements we have made across all fields of human society. The smart phone revolutionised the way we go about our lives and is complemented by both 3G and 4G technology which allows us to use the internet on our phones faster than ever before. We literally have the internet in our pockets and we are in the midst of an onslaught of tools and apps that we can use day to day to help us manage things.
Now we are at the age of innovation as we head towards further advancements in technology. Wearable technology is now becoming the next big thing as we see Smart watches and fitness trackers out on the market. We are becoming more innovative and more integrated with technology and able to implement more functionality out of existing products.
You can now order and pay for a taxi through your smart phone, you can track your sleep and the amount of steps you take on a daily basis on your Fit Bit and even listen to any song you want at any time. We are also seeing a huge growth in Virtual Reality with the Oculus Rift coming out soon. Not to mention Google Glass which is an apparatus you wear like glasses that creates an image in your line of sight.
Some may say that wearable technology is here to stay and some say it is a phase that we are going through, I think that it is here to stay simply because of the endless number of useful applications it makes possible. Soon Apple will be launching the Iwatch which is exciting as it will bring to the market new technology that has never been used before (although most of the features are pure speculation). For example rumours abound that it will charge through kinetic energy meaning that as you move it will charge the battery. it will also have a live heart rate monitor as well as help you keep track of your daily activities, including sleep among other things.
We are lucky to be living in an age where all these new innovations are sprouting daily and we can actually see the world shift and change before our very eyes. Recently, mobile phones evolved into smartphones, bringing advanced technology to our pockets. The next stage of gadget evolution will involve moving from our pockets to everywhere on our person, so keep an eye out for cool new wearable gadgets coming your way!
