How to find your public and private IP address

If you are looking for the public IP address and private IP address for a computing device in Windows, Mac, iOS and Android than we will show you how to access them in a few easy steps.

How to access your public IP address

A public IP address is your passport to the internet! It is the internet facing IP address designated to any computing device (i.e. laptop, desktop, mobile phone, iPad) that enables it to directly access the internet. A public IP address is globally unique and can essentially be assigned to that specific device. However, if you have devices all connected to the same network such as a home network which would consist of your TV, smart phone, laptop etc then they will be assigned the same public IP address. Remember that anyone on the other end of your internet activity would be able to see your public IP address.
