For those needing to be in the know about their public and private IP address, just follow these simple steps below:
Locate your Public IP Address
Jump onto your web browser and type into Google search engine, ‘What is my IP address’. It will be displayed like below.
Another way of finding this out is by accessing your router. Here is one from Netgear:
Discover your Private IP Address
Navigate to Start – Control Panel.
Select Network and Sharing Center.
In the connections section, select the name of your internet connection to view its status (example shown below).
In the internet connection status dialog box, select Details.
Your IP address is listed.
Did you know you can also find your private IP address through command prompt? No? Well. we shall show you how to obtain it:
Go to Start and type in ‘CMD’. Select ‘CMD’ from the search list.
In ‘CMD’, type ipconfig and press Enter.
