Export Internet Explorer Favourites
In Internet Explorer, Navigate to the Star icon in top right hand corner and click the down arrow next to ‘Add to Favourites’. From the drop down list, select ‘Import and export…’
In the Import/Export Settings dialog box, you are asked how you want to import or export your browser settings. Select ‘Export to a file’ and click ‘Next’ to continue.
On the ‘What would like to export?’ page, tick ‘Favourites’ and click Next to continue.
On the ‘select the folder that you want to export’ page, select the folder you want to export. If you want to export all bookmarks, it is preferable to select the ‘Favourites’ main folder (selected by default) and click Next.
Indicate the folder where you want to export your favourites to.
You are prompted that the Favourites have been successfully exported to the assigned folder. Click Finish to return to Internet Explorer.
Import Internet Explorer Favourites
For users who have lost their Internet Explorer Favourites for a variety of reasons, it is simple to import the backup of your Favourites folder to your new Internet Explorer.
In Internet Explorer, navigate to the Star icon in top right hand corner and click the down arrow next to ‘Add to Favourites’. From the drop down list, select ‘Import and export…’
In the Import/Export wizard, select ‘Import from a file’ radio button. Click ‘Next’ to continue.
On the following page, specify what browser settings you want to import. For our case, we just want our bookmarks. So we select ‘Favourites’ and click Next.
Select the file where you want to import your favourites from and click Next to continue.
Indicate which folder you want your Favourites to be imported into. The ‘Favourites’ folder is highlighted by default. We decide to leave this setting and click Import.
The wizard states that the import operation of your Favourites has been successful. Click Finish to exit the Wizard.
