How to cancel or remove a stuck print job in Windows 7 or Vista

Most of the time when you print, everything works smoothly. But there are those moments when the print job gets stuck in the queue and you try in vain to delete it, but it just won’t budge! This simple procedure outlined below will ensure that you will never have to face the annoyance of a stuck print job again.



Navigate to Start, type services.msc in the search box and press Enter.


The Services window opens. Scroll down to Print Spooler and select the Stop icon.


Open up Windows Explorer and type the following in the location bar:



A message may pop up stating that you don’t have permission to access this folder. Click Continue.


In the PRINTERS folder, delete the files only.


Go back into the Services window and select the Play icon.


Checking back in the printer tray should show no documents waiting to be printed.
