Display My Computer icon on Desktop in Windows 7

Displaying the ‘My Computer’ icon on your Desktop in Windows 7 can be accomplished in two ways.

Option A:

Navigate to Start, right click Computer and select Show on Desktop option from the drop down list.

Navigate to Start - Computer - Show on Desktop option.

Your computer icon should now show up on the desktop.

Your Computer icon is now on the Windows Desktop

Option B:

Right click on the desktop screen and select Personalize option from the drown list.

On Windows desktop screen, right click and select Personalize from drop down menu

The Personalization screen opens. Select Change Desktop icons on the left hand side.

In Personalization dialog box, select Change desktop icons

In the Desktop Icon Settings dialog box, ensure that the Computer check box is ticked. Click OK and close out of the Personalization screen.

In Desktop Icon Settings, click checkbox Computer and press OK

Your computer should now show up on the Desktop.
